Effective Engagement in Impact Assessment – Working to International Good Practice Standards

This training explores the costs and benefits of public participation for the proponent and all stakeholders. This includes a full understanding of who stakeholders are, how to identify and reach them; applying the IAP2 pillars (Core Values, Code of Ethics, Spectrum of Public Participation) to your entire process; and understanding different technique formats, when and why to use different techniques, technique role play and insights. Working with case studies, the course draws these principles together with the IAIA Best Practice Principles and FasTips to hone participants’ skills in effective engagement in impact assessment – planning for, delivering, and evaluating engagement in impact assessment.

The next IAIA training is taking place over 4-days – 9,11,16&18 July 2024. The 4-day program costs $480USD for IAIA Members and $580USD for non-members.

Testimonials

In 2011, I successfully completed the IAP2 Certificate Programme Training. The Trainers were extremely knowledgeable and generous. This was a truly remarkable experience

Ros Griffiths, Social Entrepreneur

I would highly recommend IAP2 for those actively doing consultation with the public and other stakeholders. Tanya had a wealth of experience to share and the course was insightful with a lot of interaction and role playing.

Lucy Hayward-Speight, IAP2 course participant 2013

Tanya is is brilliant at what she does. She is passionate about public participation; well organised and a clear headed decision-maker. Her contribution, over many years, to the work of the other Directors of IAP2 UK/Ireland and to the establishment and growth of the Company ensured it received high quality professional attention when it was needed most. I have no hesitation in endorsing Tanya.
